Last night I went downtown with friends to shoot cityscapes in a city considered by many to be “ugly”. Its home to me. Not a perfect night for shooting as there were no clouds to enhance the sunset. It was a great evening though with friends.
I am not a birding photographer….I can’t afford the lenses! However it is fun once in a while to get out and get some bird pictures, especially in Spring along the Texas Gulf Coast. I went down to High Island the other day to take a look at the “Rookery”, which is famous for nesting egrets, cormorants, and Spoonbills. The small birds had not hatched yet, but the nest building activity was progressing furiously!
I went out with my Photo club to Bayou Bend in Houston, I am lucky enough to travel a lot, but one disadvantage to all that travel is that I find taking pictures close to home difficult, and frankly uninteresting. One of the main reasons I joined the Photoclub (kwphotoclub.com) is to get me out the door taking pictures. I works. Great people in the club, and it does exercise my photography muscles.
